Модернизация аэропортов

Another infrastructure facility opened by Vladimir Putin was the airport terminal in Stavropol. Opening the facility, the head of state noted its importance for the region. "In general, I would like to address the leaders of the regions where this event [the opening of the terminals] is currently taking place: we need to improve the infrastructure around the airports, including transport and other infrastructure," the president urged. He noted that there is still room for improvement, "so that the place is not only beautiful in appearance, but also accessible and convenient for people, for residents of the regions and for visitors to the regions."

The original terminal building opened in 1963. However, during its operation, it had never been renovated. Due to increasing passenger traffic, the decision was made to modernize and update the terminal.

As a result of the work, its area increased from 5,000 to 6,000 square meters. The terminal was equipped with two jet bridges. Passenger throughput has increased from 300 to 400 passengers per hour, and the airport will be able to handle up to 580,000 passengers annually.

The reconstruction of the airfield infrastructure is being considered as part of the national project "Efficient Transport System" for the period 2025-2029.
